Original '32 Ford Sedan Delivery Ford historians disagree on the number of Sedan Deliveries built in 1932 -- the number falls somewhere between 392 and 409 -- but they all agree it's the rarest of the Deuce body styles. Built to be commercial workhorses, most were beat up and left for dead. Only a handful remain today, and very few of those are as original as this one. Owned for decades by early Ford parts dealer John Deats, this Sedan Delivery was well-known by the Southern California hot rod and restoration cognoscenti. Many chased it. Here's an opportunity to step up and score. Ford built the Sedan Delivery out of it's Tudor. The rear quarter windows were filled with "plymetal" and a large door and drip rail were installed in the back. This example has all it's correct original details including the unique, shortened rear bumper brackets designed to allow easier egress into the back. Nothing has been cut. Nothing has been filled. Nothing has been shaved. The body was rust-free and straight. You'll find a couple of subtle nods to the traditional hot rod crowd: A dropped headlight bar, dropped axle, tube shocks, juice brakes, and 15 inch steel wheels. The steering, transmission and rear end are all stock Deuce. Under the hood you'll find a brand new, super-cool, "banger" motor. Ford built four cylinder replacement motors up through the end of the 1940's. This factory NOS "B" motor was sourced from All Ford vintage parts in Campbell, CA. Made in the USA around 1947 and still coated in Cosmolene, it was literally brand new. It's been hopped up with a Winfield head and a pair of rare Stromberg 81 carbs. It's also been converted to 12 volts and fitted with an alternator and Mallory electronic ignition so it fires quickly, idles smoothly, and run as dependably as any modern four cylinder. John Deats owned the car for well over 40 years. He worked on it from time to time, but never actually put it on the road. The sheet metal was straight and rust-free and needed relatively little work to prepare it for its satin black paint. The interior has also been restored using original-style materials throughout. The seats, carpets, door panels and rear paneling are new and flawless. This is a rare opportunity to own the rarest of all Deuces. This Sedan Delivery has been fully detailed, tuned and sorted, and is a ready for both showing and cruising. -
