The result of one and a half years of intensive work, this numbers matching C2 Corvette has been completely restored both mechanically and cosmetically. A personal project of the owner of a high-end restoration and paint shop, he started with a clean, no-stories car, and then made sure that no expense was spared in bringing this classic back to life. The car was reduced to its fundamental parts and then built up piece by piece. Each element of the car was reinstalled using either the refurbished original parts, or the highest quality replacement parts. The numbers matching, L79 350hp 327ci V8 was rebuilt, the crankshaft ground, new pistons and rings installed, and it now runs like new. The 4-speed manual transmission, while not original to the car, is a period correct 1967 Corvette transmission and has been completely rebuilt. The shapely fiberglass body was stripped of its Marlboro Maroon paint, which covered the original Sunfire Yellow. The entire body sanded and sprayed with feather fill. It was then block sanded and primed. The primer was block sanded, and then after the mulitlple base clear coats were applied, it was block sanded again. Remember this was the personal car of a body shop owner, so the work had to be perfect. The car was finally finished off with Silver Pearl Glasurit base-clear urethane paint buffed to a mirror like, concours perfect finish. While this bodywork was going on the doors were removed, new glass channels, hinge bushings and weather stripping were installed and sound deadener was applied in the doors. A 427 stinger hood was sourced and fitted, with a contrasting grey stripe applied under the clear coat. The front rear bumpers were rechromed to makes sure that the rest of car showed as well as the amazing paint job. The interior is original and in perfect condition. The only thing that was needed was new carpet. The floor cowl were covered with sound deadener prior to new carpet being laid down and the dash reinstalled to ensure a rattle free ride.
